Abstract
Typhoid fever is a systemic infection caused by Salmonella typhi, usually caused by contaminated food or water (Novi, 2021). Typhoid fever is one of the endemic diseases in Indonesia, so it must be given serious attention because it can be a threat to public health. Moreover, there is an increase in relapse cases and there is resistance to the drugs used which will further complicate various efforts made related to this disease (Ministry of Health, Republic of Indonesia, 2006). This case study aims to increase knowledge, experience and expertise in providing nursing care to patients with typhoid fever. This research method is descriptive in the form of a case review to explore the problem of nursing care for clients with typhoid fever in the Sakura room at the Mitra Sejati General Hospital (RSU) in the Sakura room. The approach used is a nursing care approach which includes assessment, nursing diagnosis. planning, implementation and evaluation. The number of samples in this case was 1 person who was carried out on 7-12 March 2022. The results of observations on patients with typhoid fever aged 10 years with complaints that the mother said that her child was weak, had a fever for 5 days at home and had a lack of appetite, nausea, vomiting, tongue feeling bitter, cough and headache. From the results of the data analysis above, it was obtained that the case addressed to client An. Z with 3 nursing diagnoses, namely:
1. Hyperthermia associated with an infectious process of inflammation of the small intestine characterized by temperature: 39°C, warm acral, dry mucous membranes.
2. Nutrition less than body requirements related to decreased appetite and nausea and vomiting characterized by An. Z looked weak, pale, no appetite.
3. Lack of family knowledge about the disease is related to the inability of the family to recognize the health problems of family members, which is indicated by the family being worried about their child's condition.
