Manajemen Asuhan Keperawatan Gerontik Yang Service Excellent Pada Ny. S Dengan Gout Arthritis Di UPTD Pelayanan Sosial Lanjut Usia Binjai Provinsi Sumatera Utara Tahun 2025

Gout arthritis is a degenerative joint disease caused by the accumulation of uric acid crystals in the joints and is commonly experienced by the elderly. This condition causes severe pain, swelling, limited mobility, and can decrease the quality of life. The elderly, as a vulnerable group, require comprehensive nursing care; therefore, the implementation of gerontic nursing management based on
service excellence is essential to improve the well-being of elderly patients with gout arthritis. The purpose of this study was to apply gerontic nursing management based on service excellence to Mrs. S, a 76-year-old elderly woman
suffering from gout arthritis at the Elderly Social Service Unit (UPTD) of Binjai, North Sumatra Province, in 2025. The method used was a descriptive case study with a nursing process approach that included assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Data were obtained through interviews, observation, physical examination, and document review. Interventions included pain management, energy management, tissue integrity care, and non
pharmacological actions such as warm compresses and light range of motion exercises. The subject in this study was a 76-year-old elderly woman. The results showed decreased pain, improved mobility, better sleep quality, and increased
patient comfort after three days of nursing care. In conclusion, gerontic nursing management based on service excellence proved effective in improving the quality of life of elderly patients with gout arthritis. This approach is recommended for continuous implementation in social and health care facilities to enhance nursing service quality and promote holistic well-being among the elderly.
