Abstract
According to WHO in 2021, there were 7,389 cases of maternal death in Indonesia. When compared to 2020 this figure clearly shows an increase. Where in 2020, the number of maternal deaths in Indonesia reached 4,627 people. The highest deaths were caused by three main factors, namely: in Covid-19 totaling 2,982 people, with bleeding, namely 1,330
people, and with Gestational Hypertension totaling 1,077 people. The number of maternal deaths due to bleeding was 742 cases. Based on family health data in North Sumatra in
2022 the number of maternal deaths was 130 with an average cause of birth canal laceration, and infection. The purpose of the study was conducted to perform midwifery care in laboring women with laceration of the birth canal using a midwifery management approach with 7 Varney steps. The research method used for comprehensive care in Mrs.R is descriptive research the results of the study after 3 visits were resolved by providing midwifery care to laboring women with laceration of the birth canal. This advice is given
to mothers who experience laceration of the birth canal in order to have knowledge of handling mothers with laceration of the birth canal and it is hoped that health workers will
pay attention to care for mothers when experiencing laceration of the birth canal.
