Abstract

BACKGROUND : One indicator of the degree of public health is the maternal mortality rate (MMR) and the infant mortality rate (IMR). The higher the maternal and infant mortality rate in a country, it can be ascertained that the country's health status is poor. The results of the 2017 Indonesian Demographic and Health Survey (IDHS) showed Indonesia's AKN was 15 per 1,000 live births, IMR was 24 per 1,000 live births, and AKABA was 32 per 1,000 live births. North Sumatra Province health profile data for 2019 shows that North Sumatra Province AKN in 2019 was 2.9 per 1000 live births, IMR was 2.9 per 1000 births, and AKABA was 0.3 per 1000 live births. (North Sumatra,2019).
Methodology : The type used is a case study or Case Study, which is an observational study to obtain an overview of health phenomena or current cases related to life,especially in context boundaries and phenomena that are not clear. Results : From the results of research conducted during pregnancy, childbirth, newborns, postpartum to family
planning, there is a gap in the provision of care. Conclusion : Pregnancy care is carried out to address patient complaints, namely frequent urination at night by providing health services, reducing drinking water at night, during the postpartum period and after the postpartum period, the mother does not experience any complaints, everything is normal, there are no complications during the postpartum period. Monitoring of newborns is also carried out to find out whether there are abnormalities in the baby. use of maternal contraceptives using the MAL method.
