Abstract

Background: Labor pain is a subjective experience caused by uterine muscle ischemia, uterine ligament pulling and traction, ovarian traction, fallopian tubes and lower uterine distension, pelvic floor muscles and perineum Yulianingsih, et al (2019), According to the World Health Organization (WHO) the number of pain sensations varies and cannot be caesarean section method is quite large, reaching 24% to 30% of all labor processes. One way to massage gently will help mothers feel fresher, more relaxed and comfortable during labor. A study states that mothers who are massaged for 20 minutes every hour during the labor stage will be freer from pain. (Nurasiah 2020) Research Objective To determine the difference in effectiveness before and after giving Effleurage Massage and Counterpressure Techniques
on the level of pain in mothers giving birth in the first active phase at pmb desy fildayanti 2022. Research method: The writing method used by the author is a quantitative research type, a research design with pre-experimental designs, the type is with a two-group pretest-posttest. The population in this study were mothers giving birth in the first active phase, with a sample of 15. Data was taken with
an observation sheet. Data analysis was carried out using univariate (mean) and bivariate (t-test). Research results: Based on the results of the independent t-test study, the t-value was 3.862 with a pvalue of 0.001. Because the p-value of 0.001 <ɑ (0.05) indicates that counter pressure massage is more effective than effleurage massage technique for labor pain in the first active phase in mothers giving birth in the first active phase at pmb desy fildayanti.Conclusion: There is a decrease in the average scale of labor pain before being given effleurage massage and after treatment with a p-value of 0.002 <ɑ 0.05. f. And there is a decrease in the average scale of labor pain after being given counter pressure massage and after treatment with a p-value of 0.001 <ɑ 0.05. F
