Abstract

Background: Chronic Energy Deficiency (CED) in pregnant women is a problem that still occurs today. Chronic energy deficiency in pregnant women can have an impact on the mother's health during pregnancy, childbirth and the health condition of the child to be born. Objective: to determine the relationship between pregnancy spacing and parity with the incidence of chronic energy deficiency in the UPTD work area of Teluk Binung Community Health Center, Tanjung Balai City in 2023 Research method: This research uses a descriptive correlation design with a cross sectional approach. Data analysis used the Chi Square test method. This research was conducted in the working area of the Teluk Nibung Community Health Center with a total of 58 people. Research results: The majority of respondents with a
pregnancy interval of ≤ 2 years were 29 respondents (55.8%). The majority of respondents with low economic status were 38 respondents (73.1%). Almost the majority of respondents did not have KEK as many as 28 respondents (53.8%). Almost the majority of pregnant women with a pregnancy gap of ≤ 2 years
experienced CED, 18 people (34.6%), almost all of the respondents with a pregnancy gap of ≥ 2 years did not experience CED, 17 people (32, 7%). The results of the chi test, p value = 0.010, there is a significant relationship between pregnancy distance and the incidence of CED in pregnant women, and p value = 0.004, there is a significant relationship between economic status and the incidence of CED in pregnant women.Conclusion: Midwives are expected to be able to place more emphasis on counselingregarding nutritional intake during pregnancy by using the contents of my plate media,choosing simpler words and language to further optimize continuous educational media during counseling, so that pregnant women can more easilyunderstand the counseling given and provide leaflets containing about the contents of my plate so that pregnant women can read and
understand it
