Abstract
Background : Adolescence or adolescence (English) comes from the language adolescere which can be interpreted as growing towards maturity, which has a very external meaning including several things, namely mental, emotional, social and physical maturity. The classification of adolescents is early adolescents aged 10-13 years, middle adolescents aged 14-16 years, and late adolescents aged 17-19 years. Adolescence or puberty is a transition period from childhood to adulthood. Research purposes : To determine the relationship between social support and readiness to face menarche in junior high school students. Population : In this study, there were 102 young women. Sample : 50 young women. Types of research : This type of research is analytical with a cross sectional approach, namely a type of research with quantitative methods. Data collection used was
questionnaires and interviews as well as statistical analysis using chi-square. Results : The results of statistical tests show that 27.3% of respondents who
received menarche were ready and 50.0% were not ready, a result (p value = 0.103) which means there is no significant relationship between peer support and menarche readiness. 20.8% of respondents who were ready for menarche had good teacher support and 42.3% who were not ready had poor teacher support, the result (p value = 0.008) which means there is a significant relationship between teacher support
and menarche readiness. 35.0% of respondents who were ready for menarche had good family support and 56.7% who were not ready had less teacher support, the result (p value = 0.556) which means there is no significant relationship between
family support and menarche readiness. Suggestion: For female students to be more active.
