Hubungan Usia Ibu Hamil Trimester 1 Dengan Kejadian Abortus Spontan Di Rumah Sakit Umum Pusat Haji Adam Malik Medan Tahun 2023

Background: Spontaneous abortion is the loss of a pregnancy at < 20 weeks of age or a fetus weighing < 500 grams. The frequency of spontaneous abortion in Indonesia is 10% -15% of the 6 million pregnancies each year and 2500 of them end in death. There are several factors that cause spontaneous abortion, one of which is maternal age, parity, gestational age. level of education, occupation, economy, various medical illnesses, nutritional status of the mother and history of abortion. This study aims to analyze the relationship between the age of pregnant women in the first
trimester and the incidence of abortion at the Haji Adam Malik Central General Hospital in 2023.
Method: The type of research used is case-control. The population of this study were all pregnant women who gave birth in the VK room and the sample used was 30 samples using total sampling techniques in determining the sample. The analysis used was univariate and bivariate with the Chi-
square test to determine the relationship between the independent variable and the dependent variable.
Results: Based on the research conducted, it is known that from the group of cases suffering from spontaneous abortion with an early age of <20 years there were 27 subjects (90%), and those aged >20-35 years were 3 respondents (10%).
Conclusion: There is a relationship between the age of pregnant women and the incidence of spontaneous abortion at an early age < 20 years totaling 27 subjects (90%), and at an age > 20-35 years totaling 3 respondents (10%)
