Faktor- Faktor Yang Berhubungan Dengan Status Gizi Buruk Pada Balita Di Rumah Sakit Umum Pusat Haji Adam Malik Provinsi Sumatera Utara Tahun 2023

Background: Malnutrition is low nutritional intake, which is caused by low consumption of energy and protein in daily food. This research aims to determine factors related to poor nutritional status at RSUP.H.Adam Malik in 2023.
Method: This research is a quantitative study using analytical observational research methods and a cross-sectional study design, which aims to determine the factors that influence malnutrition among toddlers at the Haji Adam Malik Central General Hospital. The population in the study was 74 with the sampling technique used in this research being Porbality sampling using an accidental sampling technique, so the sample in the study was 37 respondents, that is, the sample was determined by taking existing cases or respondents or in a place according to the research context. The data analysis technique uses Chi square.
Results: The results obtained in this study were that the prevalence of MP-ASI feeding patterns was poor (70.3%) and good (29.7%). The prevalence of parental income was low (81.1%), and high (18.9%). The prevalence of parental
education is low (62.2%) and high (37.8%). Based on the P-Value statistical test results of 0.006, this means that there is a relationship in the pattern of giving MP-ASI to malnutrition. P-Value statistical test results are 0.008 This means that there is a relationship between parental income and malnutrition. Based on the P-Value statistical test of 0.001, this means there is a relationship between
parental education and malnutrition.
Conclusion: There is a relationship between the MP-ASI feeding pattern variable and poor nutrition. There is a relationship between the variable parental income and poor nutrition. There is a relationship between the variable parental education and poor nutrition. It is recommended that health workers be better at improving the quality of health services in the community
