Faktor yang Mempengaruhi Hiperemesis Gravidarum pada Ibu Hamil Trimester I di RSU Delima Medan Labuhan Provinsi Sumatera Utara Tahun 2024

Background: Hyperemesis gravidarum is excessive nausea and vomiting in pregnant women that interferes with daily activities and is generally worsened by dehydration. The exact cause of hyperemesis gravidarum is unknown, but it is
thought to be due to increased levels of estrogen and human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) in serum. The purpose of this study was to determine the factors influencing hyperemesis gravidarum at Delima General Hospital, Medan Labuhan, North Sumatra Province in 2024.
Methods: This research method was quantitative, with an observational analytical cross-sectional design. The population of this study was all 30 pregnant women in their first trimester who attended antenatal care. The sample
used was 30 pregnant women in the first trimester.
Results: The chi-square test showed that age was associated with the incidence of hyperemesis gravidarum with a P value of 0.004 <0.005, parity with the incidence of hyperemesis gravidarum with a P value of 0.001 <0.005, and pregnancy spacing with the incidence of hyperemesis gravidarum with a P value of 0.004 <0.005.
Conclusion: The conclusion of this study is that there is a statistically significant relationship between maternal age, parity, and pregnancy spacing with the incidence of hyperemesis gravidarum in pregnant women in the first trimester at Delima General Hospital, Medan Labuhan, North Sumatra Province in 2024.
