Pengaruh Edukasi Menggunakan Media Leaflet Terhadap Peningkatan Pengetahuan Ibu Tentang Perawatab Bayi BBLR di RSU Citra Medika Kecamatan Percut Sei Tuan Provinsi Sumatera Utara Tahun 2024

A low birth weight (LBW) baby is a newborn weighing <2,500 grams, regardless of gestational age. Babies born with LBW are at risk of experiencing growth and developmental disorders. The purpose of this study was to determine the effect of education using leaflets on improving mothers' knowledge about caring for LBW babies at Citra Medika Hospital,Percut Sei Tuan District, North Sumatra Province
in 2024. The research method used was quantitative research using a quasiexperimental design approach with a One-Group Pre-test and Post-test design. The population of this study was postpartum mothers with LBW babies and 32 postpartum mothers with LBW babies who were willing to be respondents.The sample used was 32 postpartum mothers with LBW babies.The results of the study showed an effect before and after being given education using leaflet media with a
p value of 0,000 < 0,005. The conclusion there was an effect of providing education using leaflets on improving mothers' knowledge about caring for LBW babies with a p-value of 0.000 <0.005. Suggestion are expected yhat health workers should improve education/counseling to mothers who have low bith wight (LBW) babies in order to furnither increasemother’s knowledge about caring for low bith wight
(LBW) babies.
