Abstract

Acute Respiratory Tract Infection (ARI) is a disease that includes infections of the upper respiratory tract, such as rhinitis, pharyngitis and otitis as well as lower
respiratory tract such as laryngitis, bronchitis, bronchiolitis and pneumonia. This disease generally lasts up to 14 days where the duration is used as a benchmark to
determine the limits of the acute phase of ARI. The purpose of this study is to provide excellent service nursing care for children with Acute Respiratory Tract Infection (ARI) at the Ministry of Health, Adam Malik Hospital. This research
method uses a case study with a descriptive approach. The subject of this study is 1 child patient who experiences respiratory system disorders. Data collection is
carried out through various methods, namely interviews, accurate observations regarding the status of the child's condition. The results of the study that have been
conducted on Acute Respiratory Tract Infection (ARI), ineffective airway clearance, ineffective breathing patterns, hyperthermia and nutritional deficits. The
interventions carried out are effective cough training, airway management, hyperthermia management and nutritional management. The conclusion was that ineffective airway clearance, ineffective breathing patterns, hyperthermia, and
nutritional deficits were partially resolved and continued by the field nurse. Recommendations for nursing services include improving interventions to address unresolved issues.
