Abstract

Hypertension is a chronic non-communicable disiase that frequently occurs in the elderly. This conditionis often referred to as a silent killer because it does not show clear sytoms util complication as arise, such as stroke, heart disease, or kidney failure. This case study was conducted at UPTD Pelayanan Sosial Lanjut Usia Binjai, North Sumatera, focusing on the implementation of excellent nursing care management based on the principles of service excellence for an elderly patient, Mrs. Z, who was diagnosed with primary hypertension. The purpose of this case study is to implement service excellent nursing care for Mrs. Z with hypertension at the UPTD Pelayanan Lanjut Usia Binjai, Social Service Office of North Sumatera Province, in 2025. Method used was descriptive with a case study approach. Data werw collected through interviews, observation, physical examinations, and documentation. Results Nursing interventions included health education, deep breathing relaxation techniques to reduce pain, and hypertension exercises to improve physical activity and promote blood circulation. Conclusion the provision of gerontic nursing care based on the principle of service excellence for Mrs. Z, who suffers from hypertension, can improve the quality of life of the elderly through health education, deep breathing relaxation techniques, and hypertension exercises. The results of this study show that the implementation of excellent service plays an important role in optimizing the physical and psychological condition of the elderly and supports the achievement of SDG 3.4, which focuses on reducing premature mortality from non-communicable diseases.
