Abstract
Low self-esteem is a psychological state in which a person has a negative view of themselves and lacks the confidence or ability to judge themselves. Depending on the individual or the environment, this can occur regularly or situationally. Repeated failures including loss of ability, self-injury, loss, loss of limbs, and loss of loved ones
are major factors that cause low self-esteem in people with mental disorders. According to the World Health Organization (WHO) in 2022, the prevalence of people with mental disorders in the world reached one billion people, where around 10% of the global burden of disease is said to be a contributor. From these data, almost 1 in 300 people
experience mental disorders in the world (0.32%), and around 24 million people experience schizophrenia. This study aims to determine the description of low self- esteem in the Dolok Sanggul Room, one of the Prof. Dr. Muhammad Ildrem Mental Hospital, Medan. So from the results of this study the author raises mental nursing care with low self-esteem in Mr. S conducted for three days using the nursing care process including assessment, diagnosis, intervention, implementation, evaluation and documentation, obtained the following results: Mr. S was able to overcome low self-
esteem disorders.
