Abstract

Anemia in pregnant women is a condition in which there is a deficiency of red blood cells or hemoglobin. A condition in which hemoglobin levels are below 11.0 g/dl in the first and third trimesters or below 10.5 g/dl in the second trimester. The need for oxygen increases during pregnancy, which leads to increased production of erythropoietin. Based on data from the World Health Organization (WHO), globally in 2018 the prevalence of anemia in pregnant women worldwide was
41.8% and increased in 2018 to 50%. This study aims to provide maternity nursing care to patients with anemia. The method used for this research is descriptive or commonly referred to as "a method that expresses events or symptoms that are occurring". This method includes a literature study that studies, collects, and discusses data while analyzing the nursing process approach, which includes the process of reviewing, diagnosing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing. Based on the results obtained from this study, the author conductedMaternity Nursing Care for Mrs. D with Pregnancy Anemia in the Independent Practice of Midwives Pera in Medan City, North Sumatra Province for 3 days in accordance with the maternity nursing process to obtain the results: Mrs. D was able to carry out activities without assistance, her vision was no longer blurred, and she returned to normal limits.
