Abstract
The level of public health is one of the indicators of the Maternal Mortality Rate (MMR) and Infant Mortality Rate (IMR). According to the WHO, the MMR in 2021 was 395,000 cases per 100,000 live births. Meanwhile, the IMR reached
25,652 cases in 2020, down from 7.79 per 1,000 live births in the previous year. The importance of improving continuity of care by involving midwives as caregivers during pregnancy, childbirth, postpartum, newborn care, and family
planning in an effort to detect complications early so that action is needed for their management. From the results of the study conducted through the assessment of subjective and objective data, there was no gap between theory and the results of the data. Pregnancy care provided to Mrs. S to address complaints of back pain since early pregnancy with the recommendation to use a pillow as support on the
painful back. During the postpartum period, Mrs.S complained of not knowing how to burp the baby, therefore, Mrs. S taught Mrs. S by placing the baby on the shoulder and patting the back until it makes a sound.
