Background: Diabetes mellitus (DM) is a degenerative disease that is increasing year by year in every country around the world. Diabetes mellitus (DM), often known as diabetes, is a disease characterized by a variable and persistent increase
in blood sugar levels (hyperglycemia), especially after eating. Objective: To provide gerontic nursing care with diabetes mellitus, Method: The type of research used in this case study is qualitative research in the descriptive category. The subject used was one of the families who experienced Diabetes Mellitus. The data obtained was carried out by means of interviews, observations and conducting physical examinations. Results: After the study, the diagnosis that can be established is instability of blood glucose levels, acute pain, and skin integrity disorders.
Interventions carried out with health education about diabetes mellitus, overcoming pain by means of warm water compresses and diabetic melitus foot exercises. Conclusion: Health education can increase the success in providing nursing care with Diabetes Mellitus
