Abstract
Diabetes Mellitus is a chronic disease marked by blood glucose accompanied by the appearance of special common symptoms, namely urine that tastes sweet in large quantities. Diabetes mellitus is the direct cause of 1.5 million people, 48% of all diabetes cases occur before the age of 70, as many as 460,000 deaths due to kidney disease and 20% of cardiovascular diseases are caused by increased blood sugar (WHO, 2023). According to the IDF (International Diabetes Federation), the number of people with diabetes in
the SEA region in 2045 will increase to 68% (152 million) and the prevalence of diabetes will increase by 30% (11.3%) in 2045 (IDF, 2021). In 2021, 19.5 million people with diabetes mellitus in Indonesia A total of 19.5 million people with the 5th level of countries with the highest number of people suffering from diabetes are expected to increase to 28.6 million by 2045 (The First World, 2024). The number of diabetic patients in northern dysumatera in 2019 amounted to 249,519 people, 144,521 of whom received
medical treatment, which was 57.92 percent of the total sufferers, and another 104,998 did not receive medical treatment (PROFILESUMUT, 2019). This study aims to provide family nursing care to patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus. The methods used in this study are Descriptive category case studies used with interview strategies with interview strategies by making research designs. The approach method carried out is a nursing care approach starting from the stages of assessment, diagnosis, intervention,implementation, and evaluation. Based on the results obtained in this study, the author conducted nursing
care for 3 days with the results: Mrs. S and her family were able to treat DM's wounds, were able to do foot exercises and were able to receive information about DM.
