Manajemen Asuhan Keperawatan Gerontik Yang Service Excellent Pada Tn. A Dengan Gout Arthritis Di UPTD Pelayanan Sosial Lanjut Usia Binjai Dinas Sosial Sumatera Utara Tahun 2025

Background: Older adults represent a stage of life characterized by a decline in physiological functions, including increased vulnerability to degenerative diseases such as gout arthritis. Gout arthritis is an inflammatory joint condition caused by the accumulation of uric acid crystals, resulting in severe pain and impaired mobility. Objective: This study aimed to implement gerontic nursing
care oriented toward Service Excellence in Mr. A, a 72-year-old older adult suffering from gout arthritis who was treated at the UPTD Social Services for Older Adults, Binjai. Methods: This research employed a descriptive case study design using a case study approach, involving comprehensive nursing care that included assessment, diagnosis, intervention, implementation, and evaluation.
Data were collected through interviews, observations, and physical examinations. Results: The assessment indicated that Mr. A experienced chronic pain, impaired physical mobility, and disturbed sleep patterns. The interventions
provided consisted of pharmacological therapy(administration of allopurinol and piroxicam) and non-pharmacological therapy (warm compresses and range of motion [ROM] exercises). The evaluation results demonstrated a reduction in pain intensity, improvement in mobility, and better sleep patterns. The application of the Service Excellence approach in nursing care was shown to enhance the quality of life of older adults. Proper and comprehensive nursing documentation supported the effectiveness of the care provided.s Conclusion: The implementation of gerontic nursing care management focusing on Service Excellence principles has a positive impact on the physical and psychological conditions of older adults with gout arthritis.
