Hubungan Tingkat Pengetahuan Tenaga Kesehatan Dengan Pena nganan Epilepsi Pada Anak Usia Bawah Lima Tahun Di Rumah Sakit Umum Fajar Provinsi Sumatra Utara Tahun 2024

Background: Epilepsy, often referred to by laypeople as epilepsy in children under five, is a condition in which children under five experience repeated seizures. This occurs due to impaired brain function caused by abnormal
electrical charges in the brain. Epilepsy usually appears in infancy (Utami et al., 2024).
Method: This study is an observational, analytical study with a cross-sectional approach. It analyzes therelationship between the knowledge level and age of healthcare workers and epilepsy management in children under five years of age. The population comprised all healthcare workers at Fajar General Hospital. A total sampling technique was used to select 30 healthcare workers. Data were analyzed using the chi-square test.
Result: In the statistical test of the Bivariate analysis of the relationship between the level of knowledge of health workers and the treatment of epilepsy in children under five years old, the result was = 0.00 (p <0.05). and the statistical test of the Bivariate analysis of the relationship between the age of health workers and the
treatment of epilepsy in children under five years old, the result was p = 0.037 (p <0.05).
Conclusion: There is a significant relationship between the level of knowledge and of the age of health workers and the treatment of epilepsy in children under five years of age at Fajar General Hospital, North Sumatra Province.
