Manajemen Asuhan Keperawatan Anak yang Service Excellent pada pasien An.E Dengan Pneumonia di Ruangan RB 4 Kementerian Kesehatan RS Adam Malik Tahun 2025

Pneumonia is one of the leading causes of morbidity and mortality among children in Indonesia, particularly in those under five years of age. Objective of this study is to describe the implementation of pediatric nursing care management using a service excellence approach for a patient diagnosed with pneumonia in Room RB4 Ministry of Health Adam Malik Hospital, in 2025. Method used is descriptive with
a case study approach on one child, namely An. E, who was diagnosed with pneumonia. Data were collected through interviews, direct observations, and medical record reviews to identify emerging nursing problems. Subject was a 4
year-old child presenting with symptoms of high fever, productive cough, and shortness of breath. Results of the nursing care revealed that the main problems identified included ineffective airway clearance, ineffective breathing pattern, hyperthermia, impaired gas exchange, and activity intolerance. After three days of nursing interventions using the service excellence approach—which emphasized professionalism, empathy, effective communication, and collaboration with the medical team—there was a notable improvement in the patient’s clinical condition, including reduced body temperature, increased oxygen saturation, and more stable breathing patterns. The conclusion of this case study is that the application of nursing care management with a service excellence approach can improve the quality of nursing services, accelerate patient recovery, and enhance family satisfaction and trust in the provided care.
