Pleural effusion is a condition of abnormal fluid accumulation in the pleural cavity, either in the form of transudate or exudate, due to an imbalance between the production and reabsorption of capillary fluid and visceral pleura. This condition is classified as a respiratory system disorder if not treated immediately. Pleural effusion can be fatal due to pressure on the lungs and impaired respiratory function. Signs and symptoms are high fever with chills or
bacterial infection, Subfebrile fever plus night sweats (Tuberculosis) and the presence of pleuritic pain as well (pneumonia). The general objective of this study is to create and implement Medical-Surgical Nursing Care with Pleural Effusion at H. Adam Malik General Hospital, Medan, North Sumatra Province in 2025. The method used is the Descriptive Method, descriptive analysis of Pleural Effusion
research data can be done to describe the characteristics of the patients and the results of the study. ResearcheRS can use this analysis to gain an understanding of the frequency of distribution, average, and percentage of the various variables being studied (Polick, B. 2017). The results found based on this study showed that the patient's condition appeared to improve and the nursing care provided was
effective and efficient. Conclusions after implementing nursing for three days with the application of Medical Surgical Nursing Care with pleural effusion system
disordeRS at H. Adam Malik General Hospital in the RA5 Inpatient Room using the nursing process starting from: Assessment, Nursing Diagnosis, Nursing Care Interventions, Implementation, to nursing evaluation.
