A fracture is a break in the continuity of the bone, the chances of a victim recovering are increased if they are treated first before being taken to hospital. Bones can be
broken lengthwise, crosswise, or in the middle and the surrounding tissues will be injured or severed automatically when damage occurs. In 2018 the World Health Organization (WHO), reported that fracture prevalence was 4.9% with approximately 25 million fractures recorded. About 20 million people had fractures in 2017, with a prevalence of 4.2%, increasing to 21 million in 2018 due to traffic accidents, with a prevalence of 3.8%. Meanwhile, in 2022, the incidence of fractures is increasing to reach 440 million people. This study aims to provide medical surgical nursing care to patients who have fractures. The method used for this research is descriptive or what is commonly called “a method that reveals events or symptoms that are happening”. This method includes literature studies that study, collect, and discuss data while analyzing the nursing process approach, which includes the process of assessment,
diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing. Based on the results obtained from this study, the authors performed Medical Surgical Nursing Care on Patient R with Post Orif Open Tibia Fracture in Room RB 3 of H. Adam Malik Hospital for 3 days in accordance with the medical surgical nursing process to obtain results: Patient R is able to perform non-pharmacological techniques to reduce
postoperative pain such as deep breath relaxation techniques, and the problem of physical mobility disorders experienced by patients is getting better by doing early
mobilization.
