Abstract
Background Pregnancy is a biological process that occurs as a result of fertilization between a sperm cell and an ovum, which then develops through the implantation process in the uterus. Generally, pregnancy lasts about 40 weeks or about 9 to 10 months, which is divided into three main stages or trimesters. According to the World Health Organization (WHO), the maternal mortality rate is very high. Every day, about 830 women worldwide die due to pregnancy or childbirth problems. Information from North Sumatra shows that Kl is 91.8%, ideal Kl is 84.0%, and K4 is 66.2%. All three coverage indicators - KI, perfect K1, and K4-have experienced the same decline. In Indonesia, Kl is 96.1%, ideal Kl is 86.0%, and K4 is 74.1% according to Riskesdas.
