Abstract

Background: Breast engorgement is a condition in which the breasts become swollen due to blockage in the lactiferous ducts or because the glands in the breasts are not emptied optimally, as well as abnormalities in the mother’s nipples. Breast engorgement, or caked breast, can occur on the 3rd to 5th day postpartum and may cause pain, as well as sometimes lead to an increase in body temperature.
