Breastfeeding is how the mother positions the baby correctly so that it attaches to the breast. Based on an initial survey conducted by researchers on 15 breastfeeding mothers at the Namu Ukur Health Center in 2022, the results were that 7 of them rarely experienced regurgitation after breastfeeding and 5 of their babies had never experienced regurgitation after breastfeeding, and 3 babies of
mothers often experienced regurgitation after breastfeeding. breastfed. The aim of this study was to determine the relationship between breastfeeding position and regurgitation in infants aged 0-6 months.
This type of research is an analytical survey with an explanatory approach
Research. The type of research is an analytic survey with explanatory research
approach. The population is mothers who have babies aged 0-6 months as many as
32 people and all of them are used as research samples. Data were analyzed
univariately and bivariately using chi-square at a significance level of 5%.
The results showed that 18 respondents (56.2%) had poor breastfeeding practices
and infants aged 0-6 months experienced abnormal regurgitation, namely 15
respondents (46.9%). There is a relationship between breastfeeding position and
the occurrence of regurgitation in infants 0-6 months with a p value of 0.004
<0.05.
The conclusion of this study is that there is a relationship between the position of
breastfeeding and the occurrence of regurgitation at the Namu Ukur Health Center
in 2022, and it is recommended that mothers know and apply the correct
breastfeeding position so that babies aged 0-6 months experience normal
regurgitation. Health workers provide regular counseling to mothers having babies about proper breastfeeding techniques and methods to avoid regurgitation.
